OMG!!!! ICE is NEVER EVER EVER to be used on RSD patients... EVER! If she ever tries to get you to do it again tell her flat out NO! I can't count how many people are in 1000 times more pain and had spreading because of some idiot physical therapist who doesn't know what they are doing. Tell her you have RSD and the normal therapy protocols do not apply to you. Tell her she needs to go educate herself. My hair is on fire right now. She has no idea what kind of damage she could do to you and it could be permanent.

check out www.rsdsa.org They are biggest, in my opinion the best, RSD foundation. Their site has any and everything about RSD. i learned so much from them.

This is one person's story and she mentions what happened when they used ice on her.

This article is helpful. It is something all of us should keep with us in case we end up in the hospital. This is the hospital protocol for an RSD patient. It also talks about NOT using ice. Maybe a good idea to give to your therapist.

I still think your therapist needs to do lots more research on RSD before she even touches you again. CURSING

You can try heat.
I'm doing Tens treatments for my shoulder. I do use ice due to the swelling that the PT creates. Ice can be used in limited amounts but it shouldn't be used on an area of active RSD.

When I'm doing Tens I have the option of ice or heat. Try the heat. It wouldn't hurt to share information regarding RSD with the person treating you. Just because they are in the medical field does not mean they know a thing about RSD.

We tend to educate the medical community. It's all good, they learn from us!
